KEY POINTS:
Petrol and diesel prices dropped yesterday, with Shell leading the charge, followed by BP.
Prices are 148.9c a litre for 91 octane, 153.9c for 95 octane and diesel at 120.9c.
A Shell spokesman said the price drop was due to the continued decrease in the cost of refined product, a view shared by BP managing director Peter Griffiths.
Petrol is now the cheapest it has been since May 2007.
