Fiordland is set for a pelting tomorrow with the Metservice warning up to 300mls could fall in a day.
Forecaster Oliver Druce said a front will hit Fiordland and stall tomorrow morning.
The front will then move onto Westland and Mr Druce said people in the area should watch Canterbury lakes and rivers south of Tekapo as well as Otago head waters.
