Nine months ago, Britons Tim Nicholson and Joanne Bowlt set out from Oxford, England, travelling in a 1954 Morris Oxford.
Yesterday they arrived in Oxford, New Zealand, to a gala welcome including hundreds of vintage cars, a good sprinkling of Morris Oxfords, Morris dancers, sheep-shearing, spinning and stalls.
The pair set out on the long drive to raise awareness of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent charities.
Their journey took them through France, Spain, North Africa, Egypt and India, then to Australia via Singapore and finally to Canterbury.
They now plan to help the Red Cross national appeal from February 22, travelling the South Island to assist with fundraising.
