From My Food Bag to Pie: Founder's new role

The visionary founder of Kiwi success stories My Food Bag and Au Pair Link has taken a pivotal new role.

Cecilia Robinson has joined Pie Funds Management Limited as a director. The company is the issuer of the JUNO KiwiSaver Scheme.

Robinson, who launched My Food Bag in 2013, said she was delighted with her new role.

"I'm delighted to work with the Pie team," she said.

"Pie has generated over $359m of wealth for its investors in the last decade."

Robinson said she huge respect for Pie founder Mike Taylor's achievements with the company and its low fee, education-focused KiwiSaver scheme under its JUNO brand.

"As a Director, my focus will not only be on the performance of the business but on the people and marketing strategy that will underpin our next significant growth chapter ahead."

Pie's founder and CEO, Mike Taylor, says Cecilia's appointment to the board comes at an exciting time for both Pie and JUNO.

"October has been our biggest month for new JUNO membership since our launch in August 2018 and we added well over 1,000 members, so we're in a great position, enjoying strong performance, and growing market share all the time," he said.

"However there's always more to do."

Taylor said Robinson's experience in marketing, and her people and culture focus would help prepare the growing company for new challenges.

"We like her entrepreneurship mindset and are impressed with her business acumen."

Robinson is one of New Zealand's most successful businesswomen.

She set up My Food Bag in late 2012 and with husband James Robinson brought on former Telecom CEO Theresa Gattung and celebrity chef Nadia Lim and her husband Carlos as co-founders.

The business was launched in March 2013.

Revenue for the home delivery food service exceeded $100 Million in under 3 years.

The service has more than 50,000 customers.

She stepped down from her role at My Food Bag last year but remains a director.
