A section of water main burst in Hastings on Tuesday leaving residents without water and the road damaged.
Supply is being restored to the properties west of the railway line after the main, an underground pipe that delivers drinking water, burst on the intersection of Nottingley Rd, Frimley Rd and Matariki Ave about 7.15am.
A Hastings District Council spokesperson said the issue had been isolated and the area affected was reduced to properties close to the pipeline in Frimley.
As at 11am approximately 25 properties in the immediate vicinity were without water. The specific cause of the failure is not yet known.
