A man and his friend investigating a break-in at a Ponsonby house yesterday were confronted by two armed men who forced them into a bedroom, where they were tied up.
The aggravated robbery happened just before 11am in Clarence St.
One of the attackers had a shotgun, the other a tyre iron.
The robbers drove off in a stolen dark blue/black Mitsubishi Diamante, registration AYU116.
