KEY POINTS:
Weather for the Big Day Out is looking identical to last year. Thanks to a high pressure system over the North Island sunny, hot, weather is expected to last over the next 72 hours.
If you're going to the BDO there's one important thing to remember about the temperature - you'll probably be standing directly under the sun with no shelter...that means you can add at least 10 degrees to the temperature during the middle of the day.
Between about 11am and 4pm temperatures may well reach 35 to 40 degrees within the stadium out in the sun. Make sure you drink plenty of water in temperatures that high. If clouds roll in and that sou'westerly picks up then that will help cool things down just a little.
