KEY POINTS:
Three young General Motors (GM) designers have created a concept version of the iconic Hummer off-roader. Scheduled for introduction at the North American International Auto Show in January, the Hummer HX is the work of David Rojas, Min Young Kang and Robert Jablonski.
It's the first GM project for all three. Fresh out of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, the designers' first brief was to design a fun, nimble and innovative Hummer for the future.
In its final concept form, the HX offers an open-air driving experience via a pair of removable roof panels above the driver and front passenger and a modular, removable rear roof assembly enabling a quick conversion from closed to open vehicle. It also features a slant back assembly removable doors and fender flairs.
