The man charged with murdering Leanne Kingston faced a new charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice on Thursday.
The 43-year-old entered no pleas when he appeared in Papakura District Court and was granted continued name suppression.
He was remanded in custody until September 17.
He faces a third charge of intentionally damaging a tyre on Ms Kingston's car.
Ms Kingston, 39, was found dead in her home in Papakura on August 10.
Police arrested a second man last week in connection with the murder.
The 42-year-old appeared in Papakura District Court on August 20, charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He will appear again on September 17.
