The Auckland elephant that killed its keeper has found a new home at San Diego Zoo.
Mila crushed keeper Helen Schofield to death at Franklin Zoo in April last year.
A coroner's investigation found the elephant was scared by an electric security wire and was trying to protect Dr Schofield from harm.
The incident led to the closure of the Franklin Zoo facility and the re-homing of its animals.
After a 12 hour flight and a drive down Interstate 5, the LA Times reports Mila is in good health in her new home in San Diego.
