Foxton pensioner-death inquiry continues

Police say they are still unsure how Foxton pensioner Winsome Jimson-Newland died, but quashed rumours that her house was ransacked.

The body of the 74-year-old was discovered in her Whittaker St home a week ago.

Police were concerned the house had been searched because items were damaged and the dead woman's purse was missing.

But they said yesterday that the purse had been found and they were satisfied the house had not been ransacked.
