A fourth man has been charged with the murder of Auckland pizza worker Marcus Doig.
William Logan Johansson today faced 12 new charges including the murder of Mr Doig and attempted murder of another man during the robbery of the Pakuranga pizza parlour when he appeared in the Manukau District Court.
The 24-year-old unemployed Otara man has already been charged with the murder of ASB bank worker John Vaughan.
Johansson is one of three men still facing charges connected to the murders of Mr Doig and Mr Vaughan in May and a string of other armed robberies.
Ese Junior Falealii has already been sentenced to a minimum 17 years and nine months in prison after pleading guilty to the two murders and several other armed robberies.
The Solicitor-General is seeking a longer jail term for Falealii and has lodged an appeal.
Pago Savaiinaea, 25, and Joseph Sam Samoa, 27, also appeared in court today charged with the two murders and several other robberies.
There is a suppression order on any images or information that might lead to the identification of Savaiinaea.
They were joined in the dock at the Manukau District Court for the first time today by another man, 30-year-old Manurewa groundsman Kenneth Edward Kitiseni.
Kitiseni is jointly charged with Johansson and Samoa of the attempted armed robbery in December and robbery in January that police laid against them today.
Kitiseni, who is on bail, shook hands and smiled with the other men when they joined him in the dock.
Marcus Doig's father, Peter, was present in the back of court during their brief appearance.
The officer in charge of the case, Detective Senior Sergeant Gary Lendrum, said he and a team of four detectives were still working full-time on the case and would probably continue to do so for another weeks.
Mr Lendrum did not rule out the possibility of more charges being laid.
All four men will reappear for a month-long depositions hearing in March.
