Four teens went on an "indescribable spree", hurling champagne bottles, beer cans and rocks at parked cars in a school holiday rampage.
A group of boys aged between 16 and 18 at the time of the offending appeared before Judge Elizabeth Aitken at the Auckland Youth Court on Thursday.
Each faced 21 charges of intentional damage after a midweek rampage through Auckland's eastern suburbs on January 13 and 14.
The teens, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to offences including torching a wheelie bin and throwing rocks on to the bonnets and roofs of at least 20 parked vehicles.
"The four of you went on an indescribable spree, it seems to me," said Aitken.
Each was ordered to pay more than $3200 reparation and complete 100 hours of community work, including time on drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
