Four seriously injured in car crashes

A man was seriously injured when a car crashed into a bank on Waiheke Island early yesterday.

He was a passenger in the car on Ocean View Rd at 3.30am, police said. He was flown to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

A man was in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital last night after a fiery two-car crash near Morrinsville.

The Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance flew the man to hospital after he and two other people, who were seriously hurt, were pulled from the wreckage. The collision was on State Highway 27 just after 5pm.
