Four rescued in Manawatu Gorge crash

Four people were taken to hospital this morning after a crash in the Manawatu Gorge, east of Palmerston North.

Police communications said the accident affected traffic flow in the gorge for a couple of hours as rescuers worked to free one person who was trapped in the vehicle.

Police said the crash scene had been cleared and gorge traffic was back to normal.

Of the four people taken to hospital, one was in a serious condition.
