Four people have been released from hospital after a crash involving four motorcycles and a car north of Wellington yesterday.
Another person was expected to be released later today.
A Porirua police spokesman today told NZPA the crash was still being investigated but the pile up was thought to have occurred after one motorcyclist clipped a car while passing on a bend on State Highway 1, north of Tawa, about 12.30pm.
Alcohol may have been a factor, he said.
