The Edge brings four quite different venues together - the Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, The Civic and Aotea Square - under one brand.
It caters for national and international conferences, exhibitions and meetings, and the performing arts and entertainment activity.
Conference and incentive delegates can enjoy world-class entertainment while meeting business obligations, says Richard Jeffery, director of theatre and convention services.
Each of the venues has its own atmosphere, allowing convention organisers to choose the best match for client requirements, he says. Individual and specific needs are readily catered for.
Event coordinators work closely with the client to put together the full range of services required, and to ensure that "expectations are not just met, but exceeded - and within budget."
The range of services provided by The Edge is impressive, Mr Jeffery says.
Boutique-style food is offered through partnerships with two of "New Zealand's finest" caterers, Glorious Food and Austin's Catering, ensuring excellent service standards and innovative cuisine.
"Successful event staging depends on a wide range of specialised techniques and abilities," he says. The Edge presentations team, Mr Jeffery adds, has staged some of the most important events ever held in Auckland, including the recent Apec meetings.
Technical skills combine with leading-edge technology to blend the technical arts of staging, lighting, sound and audio-visual.
Conference delegate systems, simultaneous interpretation facilities capable of handling any number of languages, and global teleconferencing systems, are all available.
Security is provided by a professional and experienced in-house security team, which has looked after the needs of visiting dignitaries.
Accommodation packages are available with partner hotels and apartments which are within easy walking distance.
"Whether a large or small event is planned, the convention services team at The Edge will assist in the creative planning and coordination required to create a special event."
