Four new District Court Judges have been appointed, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced today.
Dunedin lawyers Bernadette Farnan and Tim Black and their Christchurch colleagues Garry Collin and Mark Callaghan have been appointed as acting District Court Judges.
Ms Farnan has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a jury warrant and as a Family Court Judge to serve in the Invercargill District Court.
Mr Black has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a Family Court warrant to serve in the Palmerston North District Court.
Mr Collin has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a Family Court warrant to serve in the Hamilton District Court.
