Four injured in motorway crash

Four people have been injured following an eight-car pileup on SH1 on Auckland's North Shore at 1.30pm.

A woman was hospitalised with minor injuries and three children were taken to Starship Hospital, one of them seriously injured, St John's Ambulance said.

Police said one of the two southbound lanes before Greville Rd is closed to traffic.

All the cars involved have now been cleared from the scene.

A police spokesman said the crash was a nose-to-tail accident.
