Four people are injured - two critically - after a head-on collision in Auckland early this morning.
Two cars were involved in the accident outside the Tamaki Yacht Club on Tamaki Drive at 2am, Fire Service Communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said.
One occupant from each car was trapped and had to be cut out by the fire service, he said.
Police said a 65-year-old man who had been driving a silver Ford Mondeo was in a critical condition at Auckland Hospital.
A male occupant of the Toyota Estima car involved in the collision is also critically injured.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and has appealed to witnesses to contact them on 09 359 3109.
