Four people have been injured in a two-car crash in East Tamaki this afternoon, and a woman in her 30s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Part of Smales Rd between Springs Rd and Te Irirangi Drive has been closed as a result of the crash.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area, and the road is expected to remain closed until 4.30pm.
"Police and emergency services are at the scene... diversions are in place on Sir William Ave and Snave Place," police said in a statement.
The cause of the crash was not available at this stage, police added.
