The Fire Service says its too early to say if four apparently deliberately-started fires in the lower North Island early today are connected.
Fire Service Central Communications shift manager Andrew Tollison said firefighters received their first call at 12.50am, to a burning garage in Sanson, near Bulls.
At 1.22am, they received a call to a house fire in Porirua, followed by a call to a "well involved" fire at a house in Levin at 2.20am.
Finally at 4.20am Wellington firemen were called to a blaze on Massey University's Buckle Street campus about 4.20am.
Mr Tollison said fire safety officers were investigating all of the blazes, as they all appeared to have been deliberately lit.
He could not say at this stage if any of them were linked in any way.
