Four people died in three road accidents over the weekend.
Two men, aged 19 and 25, were killed when two cars collided on State Highway 2 about 5km north of Woodville on Saturday night.
Both were passengers in one of the vehicles. The car drivers were flown to hospital in
Palmerston North with critical injuries.
A motorcyclist died after his machine hit a power pole on Brighams Creek Rd, Whenuapai, west Auckland, about 1am yesterday.
And an 18-year-old Taranaki man died after the car he was driving left SH3 about 2km south of Te Kuiti around 6.40am yesterday.
A female passenger in the car had been taken to hospital for a check but had not been badly hurt.
