Four men have been arrested following a high-speed car chase across Auckland this afternoon.
The men were allegedly attempting to evade police after officers spotted them in a stolen car on the North Shore, northern communications shift inspector Lou Alofa said.
They were chased to west Auckland, where police dropped the pursuit around 1pm because of heavy lunchtime traffic.
One witness described seeing "11 cop cars driving hell for leather through Henderson''.
The stolen car was spotted shortly afterwards in the carpark of Westfield Plaza, Henderson, and four men were arrested.
