Wreaths were laid in Carterton's Memorial Square last Sunday as part of a weekend reunion of the now disbanded 6 Field Squadron, Royal NZ Engineers.
The reunion was held at the Carterton Memorial Club and attended by 79 past members, several of whom now live in Wairarapa.
People came from as far afield as Perth, Brisbane, Northland, Auckland, Gisborne and the South Island, as well as the wider Wellington region.
Many of those who turned out for the occasion had not seen each other for over 25 years.
The wreath-laying ceremony was to remember past and currently serving members of the Royal New Zealand Corps of Engineers.
