KEY POINTS:
A soldier from Linton Military Camp who was arrested after a molotov cocktail was thrown at a house is now wanted by police after failing to turn up in court yesterday.
Private Ricky Jenks, 18, was arrested last month after reports of a firebomb being thrown from a car at a flat in Waldegrave Street, Palmerston North and another against the wall of a vet clinic in Pitt St.
He was charged with unlawful possession of explosives, which carries a maximum penalty of four years' jail and a $5000 fine.
Jenks failed to appear in Palmerston North District Court yesterday and a warrant had been issued for his arrest, a police prosecutions spokesman told NZPA.
Linton spokesman Geoff Faraday said Jenks was discharged from the army on Tuesday.
