Former rugby league boss Graham Carden appeared briefly in court today on more than 120 fraud and forgery charges relating to the misuse of poker machine money.
Carden has pleaded not guilty to charges including using documents with intent to defraud, forgery, making a false statement and using forged documents.
The offending is alleged to involve $120,000 during 2003 and 2004.
Carden was New Zealand Rugby League chief executive in the 1990s.
In Wellington District Court today Judge John Walker was told the defence and prosecuting department, Internal Affairs, had had "meaningful discussions" and a further two week remand was needed to see whether matters could be resolved.
Carden was remanded on bail to reappear on June 6.
