KEY POINTS:
Former Auckland City Missioner the Rev Richard Buttle has died. He was missioner from 1994 to 1998, and was also a Justice of the Peace and King's College chaplain from 1969 until 1989.
He was a companion of the Queen's Service Order, and was on the initial committee of YouthLine, was president of the North Shore branch of Save the Children Fund and worked with Prisoners' Aid.
A service for Mr Buttle will be held at St Mary's in Holy Trinity, Parnell, next Saturday.
