A former gang member is dismissing the idea he wants to build a gang museum in Palmerston North.
Willy McGregor was once a leading figure in the city's crime scene, now he runs Outcast Ministries, helping gang members break away from the culture and make a new start.
Mr McGregor said a local newspaper took him out of context when it said he wanted to open a museum.
He said what he actually wants is a hub for his Ministry.
"We don't have a national headquarters as such in any particular place, we need to have that to establish ourselves to get our credibility and for people to actually be able to say I know where to go."
