KEY POINTS:
A former Counties Manukau District Health Board manager who abused his position of trust to commit fraud was sentenced to two years' jail yesterday.
The High Court in Auckland had heard that while Ian Taylor, 43, worked at Middlemore Hospital he awarded $600,000 worth of contracts to a company he effectively controlled. He also defrauded that company of more than $130,000.
Justice Pamela Andrews said Taylor had gravely abused his position of trust.
