A 63-year-old worker is dead following an accident in a forest area in the Bay of Plenty.
Police said emergency services were called to the incident off Tangiharuru Rd, Kaingaroa at 5.15pm yesterday.
"A 63-year-old forestry worker died in the incident," police said in a statement.
The accident was being investigated by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and the death had been reported to the coroner.
