A 30-year-old man was flown to hospital with a broken leg from a logging accident in the Hawkes Bay today.
The man fell down a steep bank while working on a forestry block near Tutira just after 8am.
Emergency services were called and a paramedic was winched into the area because of the steep terrain. The man was flown to Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.
It follows another logging accident on Monday in which a skidder driver suffered head injuries after falling 200 metres down a bank between Blenheim and Picton.
The man was flown to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition.
