Two people lost in a Waikato forest were saved by a cell phone after rescuers used GPS coordinates to track them down.
The pair called police from the Pirongia Forest Park, near Bell Track, about 4.30pm yesterday.
A search and rescue team was deployed and obtained GPS coordinates from the missing people's cell phone.
The pair were advised to stay where they were.
They were found safe and uninjured by the search and rescue team, who eventually walked them out.
