Police investigating the murder of Chattrice Maihi-Carroll are awaiting forensic testing of a knife found at the scene. Ms Maihi-Carroll's body was found in her Napier home on Monday morning but it is not known when she died. A post mortem examination showed she had been assaulted before being stabbed.
There was confusion over the publication of Ms Maihi-Carroll's surname yesterday as she was also known as Carroll-Poipoi. Police yesterday increased the murder inquiry team to 20 staff.
