The sale of the so-called cheapest home in the country to an overseas buyer is evidence that foreigners are driving up the housing market, says New Zealand First MP Pita Paraone.
The reported sale of a two-bedroom "doer-upper" on a quarter-acre section in Mataura, near Gore, for $39,900 yet again highlights how many homes are being bought by foreigners. Mr Paraone said it was time the Government recognised the problem.
