Easter weather looks settled for most of the country after a wild and stormy start which left some communities still picking up the pieces yesterday.
While the clean-up in the worst-affected areas was likely to continue, the worst of the weather is thought to be behind us.
The MetService forecast indicated Auckland would be warm, with highs of 24C today and tomorrow. Wellington was forecast to be slightly cooler, with a high of 21C on Sunday and Monday, but mostly fine.
Nelson had only a little bit of rain forecast for Monday evening.
The high winds and heavy rain which lashed parts of the country on Wednesday night left behind a trail of damage.
