Masterton's Isaac Foote picked up a bronze medal on the opening day of the national age group swimming championships being held at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre this week. Competing in the boys 17-18yrs age group. Foote was third behind Alex Hancock, of Howick-Pakuranga, in the final of the 200m butterfly. Foote clocked 2min 6.46s and Hancock 2min 4.99s.
Joe Hammond of Carterton made two finals in the boys 15yrs division, placing fifth in the 200m individual medley in 2min 17.14s and sixth in the 50m backstroke in 30.32s.
Ben Ruback of Masterton reached the final of the boys 15yrs 200m butterfly, finishing 10th in 2min 22.68s.
