A Christchurch woman with an addiction to fast food went on a $25,000-plus spending spree with 14 credit cards she ordered online.
Coral Marie Wilkins, 26, was sentenced to six months' home detention in the Christchurch District Court on Friday.
She pleaded guilty to 11 dishonesty charges having used the cards to rack up $25,351 in debt on goods such as $1451 worth of fast food.
Wilkins ordered the cards between October 2006 and September 2008 using variations of her married and maiden names. She made only one repayment of $18 on one card.
When she was charged last year, Wilkins said she used the cards to deal with self-esteem problems. She said she had a food addiction and a lot of the money went on fast food such as KFC and Burger King.
Wilson was ordered to pay reparation of $26,325, including investigation costs.
