A Christchurch company is recalling eggplant puree and hummus products because they may contain listeria.
Sahara Cuisine Ltd said in newspaper advertisements today it was recalling its 200g pottles of Baba Ghanoush and Sahara Fresh Hummus with best before dates of February 1, 2006.
The products were sold only in South Island supermarkets and should not be consumed. The recall affects only 200g bottles.
Sahara Cuisine said there had been no reports of illness, but people concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
Customers should return the products to the place of purchase for a refund or phone 0800 272 427 for further information.
The recall does not affect any other products produced by Sahara Cuisine.
