Fog hits Auckland airport

Air travellers are being advised to check with their airlines before going to Auckland airport this morning.

It follows another foggy start to the day in Auckland, which has made flying conditions marginal.

A Wellington Airport spokeswoman says flights from Brisbane and Tonga meant for Auckland have been diverted to the capital.

She says no flights have yet been able to leave for Auckland and it is not known when they will be able to.
