Fog disrupted flights at Auckland Airport this morning.
Early morning arrivals and departures were unaffected, but after the fog rolled in around 7am, five international departures were delayed.
Two of those were from Singapore and others were from Honolulu, Narita and Bangkok. All had been diverted to other airports and will be flown back to Auckland during the day.
Domestic flights were also affected by the fog which caused disruption between 7am and 9.45am. About 10.30am an airport spokesman said all the delayed international departures had left.
The flow-on effect from the fog was causing problems at both Christchurch and Wellington airports.
Staff at Wellington airport said 800 people were affected by the seven flights which were delayed. Passengers were checking back in later in the morning and they hoped to have the backlog cleared soon.
