A person had been injured by flying debris after a train crashed into a stalled truck at a rail crossing in Marlborough this afternoon.
The drivers of the train and the truck were uninjured in the crash at Tuamarina, between Picton and Blenheim, about 4pm.
But a third person suffered minor injuries when they were hit by flying debris, Inspector Rick Jury of police southern communications said.
The crash happened when the truck stalled on train tracks, a St John ambulance spokesman said.
The injured person was treated at the scene and did not need to be taken to hospital.
