Fifty Japanese students have been isolated in a Christchurch hotel with suspected swine flu.
Five had been tested and found to have the virus, so it was likely all 50 were infected, the Canterbury District Health Board said.
It was believed they carried the flu from Japan.
They were among a group of 213 from Yokohama Jogakuin Girls' School.
