Flu pandemic drugs arranged

Pharmac has reached deals with five companies for a range of antibiotics in case an influenza pandemic strikes.

The drugs should be available by the end of this year and will cost district health boards $4.6 million.

Antibiotics do not protect against flu but will control secondary infections.
