The main road south from Rotorua was closed for most of this morning after a truck accident left flour spread across the highway.
Senior Sergeant Dave Donaldson of Rotorua police said that about 2.30am the driver of a southbound truck and trailer unit laden with bags of flour lost control of the vehicle about 2km south of Rainbow Mountain.
While the driver escaped with minor injuries, flour from the truck needed to be cleared before the road would be cleared.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident but no other vehicles are believed to be involved.
