An Eagle Air flight was diverted to Timaru Airport yesterday morning for an emergency landing after a warning light indicated a problem with one engine.
An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said the Jetstream aircraft was capable of flying without one engine and was certified to do so. It had been flying from Oamaru to Christchurch.
The 19 people on board were taken to Christchurch by road.
