A vehicle involved in a police chase in Remuera this morning was allegedly travelling at 151 km/h when the chase started.
Two people were injured, one seriously, after the car fled police, hit a power pole and barrelled into a parked car around 4.20am.
A police spokesman said police are still in the process of conducting a thorough investigation of the vehicle and are not in a position to say whether it was stolen or not.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle is likely to face charges but they had not been processed yet, he said.
The chase started on Auckland's Southern Motorway near Tecoma St, and lasted for about 30 seconds before the fleeing vehicle crashed, flipping on its roof as it struck a power pole and parked car at the Ladies Mile and Marua Rd intersection.
