Around 100 people spontaneously broke into dance as part of a flash mob at Botany Town Centre yesterday, surprising shoppers.
The members of the flash mob got their jive on to Greased Lightning from the musical Grease while seven hidden cameras filmed the dance and people's reactions.
A "flash mob" is a gathering where participants dance or perform a dramatic action in a public place. They are usually organised on the internet and are popular on YouTube.
Stijn Van de Velde organised the event for a student project for South Seas Film and Television school, where he studies editing.
He said he appealed to the other 126 students for their help and set up a Facebook page to organise the two dance rehearsals before the event.
"It's always been my dream to organise a flash mob and I'm really happy with how it went."
