KEY POINTS:
A 5-year-old Otorohanga boy has been killed crossing the road after getting off a school bus.
Detective Sergeant Steve Honiss said the boy was crossing towards his home on Otewa Rd at 3.30pm on Friday when he was hit by a ute.
He was taken to Waikato Hospital by the Westpac Air Ambulance but died later in the afternoon.
