KEY POINTS:
Police say they have "grave concerns" for a five-week boy who has not been seen since Friday night when he was left in the care of a family friend .
Detective Sergeant Megan Goldie of Henderson CIB said Sean Clifton-Grant was temporarily in the care of Cindy Knox -- a 25 year old from Mangere -- throughout Friday.
Ms Knox was last seen with Sean, described as part Maori, part Pacific Islander, in New Lynn at 11.15pm on Friday.
Sean's mother, Phyllis Clifton, reported him missing to police yesterday at 6.00pm but police have been unable to find either Ms Knox or Sean.
Ms Knox was seen with Sean at McDonalds in New Lynn about 9.30pm on Friday, she said.
"At about 11.15 on Friday the 12th she was seen at the New Lynn bus depot -- still with baby Sean," she said.
"However when seen 15 minutes later, Sean was not with her and she has failed to make contact with anyone since.
"Given the weather we have experienced over the last few days, the age of the baby, the delay in reporting him missing and the lack of sightings of either Cindy or baby Sean, we have serious concerns."
